Catechist Conference

Saturday, August 5th
Register by July 30th!

The 2017 Atlanta Catechist Conference, hosted by the North and Northwest Metro Deaneries of the Archdiocese of Atlanta, will be held at Marist School in Dunwoody this year. The day includes both English and Spanish keynote speakers, as well as many featured speakers. Sessions are offered for all phases of catechesis, and all experience levels of catechists. Lunch is provided for all participants. Although the focus of the conference is methodology, theology sessions are offered especially for experienced catechists.

We encourage all catechists and core team members to participate if you are able, even if only for a session or two. The conference is well worth your while, and sessions can be applied toward your ongoing catechist certification. Parents, ministry volunteers and interested parishioners are also welcome to attend.

There's still time to register for Catechist Faith Formation Day.
Call the PSR Office at 678-832-1230 for details!

There is no charge for St. Peter Chanel parishioners since we are a hosting parish. There will be no walk-in registration on the day of the conference. Visit the conference website to register online by Friday, July 21st or to download the registration brochure. Registrations can be phoned in to the PSR Office through Sunday, July 30th if you miss the online cutoff.

The story of Noah’s Ark and God’s rainbow with its promise of a new day of dignity and productivity has never been more relevant. Through "Fill the Ark," we will learn how our gifts share God’s love and make a real difference!  All of our children in PSR Preschool through 8th Grade EDGE worked together during Lent to raise the $5,000 needed for our "Fill the Ark" project.  We will be continuing this effort during VBS Week. Each day, we will spend some time reflecting on the scriptures and learning about how our ark animals will help impoverished families on their way to self-reliance.

Bring your quarters to VBS each day or donate online. Parish support is greatly appreciated to raise the remaining $1,400 needed to reach our "Fill the Ark" goal. To make things really easy, we have set up an online donation link on the E-Giving page. Scroll down to the "Misc. St. Peter Chanel" section and look for "Heifer - Fill the Ark" to enter your tax-deductible donation. Let's work and pray together as a community to help end poverty.
