Becoming Catholic—RCIA

Welcome to the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, a process that offers opportunities to gather with others to learn about the Catholic faith, and receive Sacraments.  Adults who embark on this journey come from different faith backgrounds, education and experiences, and choose this path for different reasons.  We invite you to read the testimonies below, as well as answers to common questions, to discern whether God is calling you to explore the Catholic Church, and deepen your relationship with Him.

We became Catholic...

Jeff Max & Bonny Dee Jonathan

Hunter Himes, Dawn Toups, Jeff Greenway, Max and Bonny Faulkner, Dee Merriman, and Jonathan Marston began their journey to the Catholic Church with questions, and a desire to learn more about the Catholic faith.  Click on the links below their pictures to read their testimonies.  Find out what led them to the RCIA process, and how that experience provided opportunities to grow in faith and became knowledgeable about the Catholic Church.

Are you ready to take the first step?

Before you make a commitment to RCIA, consider these opportunities to learn more:

  • Join us on one or all of the following Tuesday evenings to ask questions and get acquainted: February 7, March 14, April 25, May 23, July 12 and 19, and August 2, 9 and 16 - 7:00 pm, in room 14.
  • Call the RCIA Coordinator .  This is a great opportunity to get some initial questions answered, and introduce yourself. Contact Margaret O'Grady at 678-832-1232 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
  • Our goal is to serve you!  Take a few minutes to introduce yourself, and submit the  RCIA Information Form

No commitment necessary to begin!

We encourage you to begin this journey with an open heart and mind, allowing God to guide you in the decision to become Catholic and receive Sacraments. The commitment is yours to make, when you are ready.

What comes next?

After the inquiry dates listed above, the RCIA process will begin in August, 2017 (date not yet determined).  If you are curious about the time commitment we invite you to review the current schedule   2016-17 RCIA

What if you can't make it to all of the classes?

We work with everyone on an individual basis regarding their personal commitments and class schedule. We ask that you plan to attend every gathering.  If you miss a class we will provide resources to help you learn about the topic that was covered.

How will this process help you decide whether you want to become Catholic?

  • You will gather with others on similar journeys, and have opportunities to share thoughts and ask questions.
  • You will journey with a sponsor who serves as a mentor and guide in living the Catholic faith.
  • You will be supported by the RCIA Team, made up of many volunteers who come together to serve.
  • You will be given opportunities to grow in your understanding of how Catholics come to know, love and serve God.
