Habitat for Humanity

In accordance with the Habitat for Humanity principles: demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ and put his love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope. Habitat for Humanity manifests God's love by creating opportunities for all people to live in decent, durable shelter. Habitat puts faith into action by helping to build, renovate or preserve homes and by partnering with others to accelerate and broaden access to affordable housing as a foundation for breaking the cycle of poverty for less fortunate families.

Kairos Prison Ministry

The purpose of the Kairos Prison Ministry, a highly ecumenical organization, is to bring Christ's love and forgiveness to all incarcerated individuals, their families and those who work with them, and to assist in the transition of becoming a productive citizen. Weekend and follow-up spiritual growth activities, facilitated by Kairos volunteers and prison chaplains, challenge residents to accept God's call to a life of Christian witness and service while in the institution and beyond. Since the Kairos program takes place at an institution, it also generates a very positive impact on the entire facility.

Mission Ministry

We offer free service and support to “the least of our brothers” both near or far. To this end our participants minister to the hungry, homeless, sick and dying by assisting local organized charities in works of mercy, as well as assisting international organizations such as Missionaries of the Poor and Mustard Seed. Each year our members make care giving and construction mission trips to Haiti and Jamaica. We also organize the annual St. Peter Chanel parish-wide Haiti Food Drive. Participation in one or all of our activities is up to each individual.

Respect Life Ministry

The Respect Life Ministry promotes the Church’s sanctity of life doctrine through prayer and worship; public information and education; pastoral care; and public policy. Each month, we pray a rosary during the Marian Holy Hour for Respect Life intentions. We have monthly meetings which include guest speakers and discussions on Respect Life issues. Ministry members participate in various Archdiocesan, parish and crisis pregnancy center programs. Our goal is to promote the dignity of human life from conception to natural death.

Shrine Homeless Shelter Ministry

The Shrine of the Immaculate Conception homeless shelter provides dinner and overnight housing from November 1 through March 31. Our ministry commits to about 10 nights per year and provides dinners, bag lunches, and overnight chaperones. Volunteers can participate in any of these activities, from meal preparation, food delivery and serving, making lunches, and spending the night at the shelter. This is a wonderful opportunity for families, church groups, PSR classes, or teen groups.

St. Vincent de Paul

We are the St. Vincent de Paul Society serving the 30075 (Roswell) area, but on occasion, we assist adjacent areas when we are made aware of an unmet need. We seek to find the forgotten, the suffering or the deprived so that we may bring them Jesus’ love. We provide our time, counseling, and, through the boundless generosity of our parish family, food pantry items and financial aid in this mission of charity.
