Becoming Catholic—RCIA

Are you interested in becoming Catholic and receiving Sacraments?  Do you have questions about the Catholic faith? Are you concerned about making a time commitment to get those answers?  Are you wondering if the Catholic Church will accept you?  We invite all adults who are curious and have questions to journey with us, one gathering at a time.  We'll do our best to welcome and serve you as we strive to grow in our knowledge of Jesus Christ, exploring who we are, where we are going and how we are going to get there.   RCIA is an opportunity to come together with a community of adults to grow in faith, and prayerfully consider God's timing in discerning decisions to become Catholic or receive Sacraments.

We became Catholic...

Hunter Himes, Dawn Toups, Jeff Greenway, Max and Bonny Faulkner, Dee Merriman, and Jonathan Marston began their journey to the Catholic Church with questions, and a desire to learn more about the Catholic faith.  Click on the links below their pictures to read their testimonies.  Find out what led them to the RCIA process, and how that experience provided opportunities to meet others on similar paths, and grow in faith.

Are you ready to take the first step?

  • Let's just get acquainted!  Meet with Margaret O'Grady, the RCIA Coordinator.  This is a great opportunity to get some initial questions answered, and introduce yourself. Contact Margaret at 678-832-1232 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
  • Our goal is to serve you!  Take a few minutes to help us learn more about you, and submit the  RCIA Information Form

No commitment necessary to begin!

We encourage you to begin this journey with an open heart and mind, allowing God to be your guide.  The decision to become Catholic and receive Sacraments will be yours to make, without pressure or expectations.

What comes next?

The process for adults to become Catholic and receive Sacraments begins when you are ready to take the first step, a conversation to get acquainted.  We are interested in learning a little bit about you, and how we can be of help in explaining the RCIA process and answering your questions.  Then, when you are ready, we will help you create a faith formation plan to guide you in a journey toward sacraments.  As we move forward on that path together we will explore the Christian faith and how Catholics live it.  We will experience and learn about the Mass, and delve into and reflect on scripture.  We will provide opportunities to  grow in understanding prayer and learn about the sacramental life, as we strive for a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.

What if you can't attend all of the classes?

We work with everyone on an individual basis regarding their personal commitments and the class schedule.  If you miss a class we will provide resources to help you learn about the topic that was covered.

How will this process help you decide whether you want to become Catholic?

  • Gather with others on similar paths to share thoughts, ask questions and learn from each other.
  • Journey with  a companion (sponsor), who will join you at RCIA gatherings and support you every step of the way.
  • Learn from volunteers who share their gifts in an effort to help you grow in your knowledge and understanding of God.
  • Explore the truth as revealed by Jesus Christ, and find out how Catholics live in response to His unconditional love and mercy for each one of us.
