Confirmation Program

"Confirmation is the Sacrament that completes Baptism; in it the gift of the Holy Spirit is bestowed upon us. Anyone who freely decides to live a life as God’s child and asks for God’s Spirit under the signs of the imposition of hands and anointing with Chrism received the strength to witness to God’s Love and might in word and deed. He is now a full-fledged, responsible member of the Catholic Church."
~ The Catechism of the Catholic Church 1285-1214

The Confirmation program at St. Peter Chanel is designed to help our youth come to a deeper understanding of how the Holy Spirit works in our lives and in the life of the Church, and to a deeper appreciation of how being open to the presence and action of the Holy Spirit in our lives can draw us into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ.

Candidates seeking to celebrate Confirmation must complete two years of sacrament preparation, usually during 7th and 8th grade by attendance in PSR programs or at an Archdiocesan approved Catholic school. Reception of the sacrament takes place in the Fall of their 10th Grade year. Please review the information below based on the year your teen will be Confirmed. Take a moment to add these dates to your family calendar, so they can be priority as you enter the school year. To register for Confirmation or sacrament preparation, complete the form listed for the year you anticipate your teen will receive the sacrament.

*Candidates who missed previous sacraments or 7th and 8th grade formation may need additional prepration.
Contact us for details. The Pastor and the Director of Religious Education reserve the right to amend the
Confirmation requirements as needed. Parents and candidates will be notified if changes are made.
