Who needs to be Safe Environment Compliant?
The following individuals must be Safe Environment Compliant:
- All Employees of the Archdiocese of Atlanta, regardless of location or role
- Any volunteer who works with anyone under the age of 18, or vulnerable individuals. This includes but is not limited to: Catechists, Youth Ministers, Nursery workers, Children’s Choir, Knights of Columbus members (if youth are helping with serving at KofC sponsored functions), St Vincent de Paul members, Extraordinary Ministers to the homebound, Ushers, Sacristans, Coaches, Team/Club Moderators, Corporate Treasurers, any adult group that will have youth work with them on a project, ministry, etc.
- Anyone is invited to go through the process for their own personal growth and knowledge of how we promote safe and welcoming environments for all of God's people!
How can I register for a VIRTUS training session?
Click here to view a list of sessions, both at St. Peter Chanel, and all over metro-atlanta that you can attend. Please note that its imperative to arrive early and not be late or you will unfortunately have to reschedule for another day/time.
How do I renew VIRTUS after 5 years?
Log into www.virtus.org and complete the assigned module. Completed online, this should take about 45 minutes.
How do I complete a background check?

- We'll generate the email to be sent to you from [email protected].
- Complete on a laptop or desktop using a Google Chrome browser.
When did I complete Virtus and need to renew?
Log into virtus.org and look under TRAINING HISTORY.
How do minors volunteer?
Volunteers who are 13 years and older should complete the Minor Volunteer Application and School Reference Form below. Return forms to [email protected]
